Well done - now the long wait for a roof to arriveHad the call from the dealers confirming a new roof approved and it’s on order, now waiting for it to arrive then it’s to the body shop.
In my case, it's the body shop does the whole thingI was wondering if the roof goes to the approved body shop for spraying, then back to the dealers for fitting or does the body shop do the lot? The reason for the question is that the roof can be temperamental as it has sensor in it; mine has been fine up to now and don't want roof issues whilst away.
Was yours OK, as in no re blistering and the roof was straight and worked? In my case, it's the body shop does the whole thing

Mine is still with Fastlane body shop and won't be back for another 2 or 3 weeks so fingers crossed....Was yours OK, as in no re blistering and the roof was straight and worked?
I'm hoping that the roof goes to the bodyshop for spraying then back to MB dealer for fitting otherwise if their are issues, you are dealing with the bodyshop rather than MB directly. My roof was done totally by the third party body shop, painting, removing old roof, fitting new roof etc. I did query the dealer and they assured me the body work people are well used to removing old parts and fitting new parts. That makes sense, I suppose, since that's what they do when they repair vehicles.
Mine was the third one they have done and they seemed to have done a good job. I suppose that's three more than the dealer has done !!! The dealer also told me to go back to them if there are any problems.
I took the car into the body shop late June/ early July, MB accepted the claim in August... had a couple of courtesy calls since just to reassure me that not much has happened other than they are moving the work to their Pool body shop.My new roof was ordered in December, was meant to arrive at the dealers in January but still hasn’t arrived....
The MB dealer in Milton Keynes. The third party body work people are the one they normally use for their repair work.Which dealer referred you?

Nice one - good luck with the new roofOhh I got a call from MB and my roof is painted and ready to be fitted. It’s booked in for mid April.
Its had a solar panel fitted at some point, and it does appear to have blisters (i think)Not that I doubted it but I definitely got a new roof, look what has just surfaced on ebay! No mention of the blisters though!

That was my point, it is my old roof, I can tell from where solar panel was fitted. The blisters were all towards the rear, a few in the centre. You can see the two big ones towards the left hand side rear of the roof quite clearly in their photographs, near the Westfalis logo. Doesn’t look like it has developed any more though! Its had a solar panel fitted at some point, and it does appear to have blisters (i think)
I am surprise your old roof has surfaced on eBay. Who did the new roof for you, the dealer or 3rd party? I thought they had to return the old roof to MB if it was under warranty. That was my point, it is my old roof, I can tell from where solar panel was fitted.
