Over the years in all my vans I've noticed the groans and creaks have an uncanny knack of throwing their voice

Probably find a 10mm spanner trapped between the mattress springs! Thanks again GT, one comment from me is the quality of the repair, we are sending ours back for the third time to get a roof area vibration/rattle sorted. This wasn't there when it went in and the dealer has had it for many days so far to try to identify and cure the issue. Back in next week, third time lucky?
I confirm the usefulness of this survey in my french case !Questionnaire Update:
Can I personally thank you all for taking the time to fill out your details in the questionnaire.
We have had an excellent response to this and I have at least one documented case of the questionnaire directly helping one of our fellow MP owners in France to secure a successful warranty claim after months of trying....big kudos to you all for that!
The roof questionnaire has been updated to include a section about roof cracking. If you have experienced this please head over to the form and update your details.
Finally can I ask you to keep heading back to the form and updating as your roof issues are processed. In this way we will be able to see the problem "wash out" as it gets sorted.
Thanks once again!

Hi all..... I was reluctant to post this as I adore the van. Its been the best thing we've done as a family. However my 2021 v300 mp has the roof blisters. Lots! So obviously the issue is still ongoing, booked in Friday for assessment (mertrux derby, who are excellent) I've completed the form and I'll keep you updatedHi,
If you are interested in helping out to document just how many MP and Horizon roofs have been affected by blistering please read on...
Enclosed in this post is a link to an online questionnaire created in Google Forms, the idea is to create a permanent document for Marco Polo and Horizon owners to refer to in relation to the roof claim issue.
It takes less than two minutes to complete.
When you have completed the questionnaire you will be able to review the results of the data from your own input as well as all other vehicle owners who share their experiences.
The hope is that this shared data may shed light on what is going on with the faulty roofs, maybe assist in discovering what is causing the issue and support any claims owners may have with Mercedes Benz in the future.
Please read first, before you fill out the form:
You may need a Google account or Gmail account to access the questionnaire
Please fill out the form as fully as possible
Please only fill the form in once, let's keep the data as genuine as possible
If you fill out the questionnaire and things change, or you make a mistake, the form will allow you to edit your answers to reflect your current roof status
Please keep adding info to the form as the years pass, this will help to keep the data as current as possible
And finally...
Please remember this is a publicly viewable by all document, keep your data safe and please refrain from using profanities or foul language
Finally if you have any comments to make about the questionnaire or would like to see a particular question asked in relation to the MP roof issue please post it in this thread.
Thank you in advance for your support, here is the link:

Sorry to hear that but it is of definite value to post. Bit of a blow as I thought they'd fixed the issue last year. Maybe you just missed the cutHi all..... Cheers, fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully mine is one that slipped through the net and nobody else has issues.Sorry to hear that but it is of definite value to post. Bit of a blow as I thought they'd fixed the issue last year. Maybe you just missed the cut
Try to keep upbeat; you're still in warranty and it's only a few days to get it swapped over
What a pain, plus a bit more uncertainty for you as to if the new roof will cure the issue, as we all thought it would based on previous feedback. Blistering fibreglass is nothing new and millions of items are successfully made; I hope yours was an old batch so the new roof cures the issue. There is a code on the roof, perhaps worth checking the date of manufacture from this?Hi all..... I was reluctant to post this as I adore the van. Its been the best thing we've done as a family. Indeed a pain, I echo what the others have said....I "hope" that your roof was manufactured before autumn '20 as that would explain the issue but the only way to know is to have a look at that serial number and try and bottom that out with MBUK (I doubt an easy task).Hi all..... Hi Steve , we had an annoying vibration . I thought it from passenger window , Carol thought it behind driver, turned out to be the metal clip on the small section on rear seat that can be removed for long items ,Thanks again GT, one comment from me is the quality of the repair, we are sending ours back for the third time to get a roof area vibration/rattle sorted. Yes!! same here...the little through hatch thing.Hi Steve , we had an annoying vibration . I thought it from passenger window , Carol thought it behind driver, turned out to be the metal clip on the small section on rear seat that can be removed for long items ,
I hope this cures the issue Steve but if not have a look at the way the bottle screws are actuating, make sure they are in sync. with each other. My hunch is the roof could be raising/lowering slightly twisted. Thanks both, we also had that and have tape on it already. Ours is a groaning/creaking from the roof, and the 3rd attempt by MB believe its a faulty hinge on the near side. Not sure if it will do it but they are changing it, just awaiting part. We've now gone onto extended warranty so the V class bits covered only - hope this hinge cures the issue.
Yes this piece seems very badly fitted and the source of a lot of noise. I removed it... Not sure it serves any particular purpose anyway!Yes!! same here...the little through hatch thing.
Best solution I could think of was to wrap the metal locating bar in thin tape/foam/rubber.

That's a good idea TFC, might be worth "logging" it with your preferred dealer during the next service or something though, just so you have a decent timeline and proof that the issue has not arisen due to an "external factor" for example.Sorry to hear this.
I also have just discovered some blisters on the roof of my 2021 MP. A little upset as I had hoped these issues were in the past but trying to focus on it being minor cosmetic issue only. I intend to leave it as long as possible before addressing in the hope that one replacement will be all I ever need!
