Update of 2019 mp command NAV sw

I had Apple Carplay installed on my 2019 MP with Command for about £500.
You can then use Google/Apple maps and Waze.
For nostalgia I occasionally revert to MB Command satnav with its confusing instructions around gyratories and large roundabouts to remind me it was money well spent.

Was that at Comand in Surrey?

The way of the world with modern vehicles. They sell you stuff you thought you had bought but its a subscription service and they are monetising you and your data to boot. It’s the reason I got rid of my GlC300d - great car mechanically but too much gimicky software technology
Use Apple Carplay Waze or Google instead ( they are still monetising you but you have privacy settings!) . If the vehicle doesn’t have it, it’s about £500 for the mod.

If you have CarPlay on a comand system, not the newer system, how does it integrate with the aircon etc?

If I’m on say a radio channel I can use the scroll wheel or touch pad to navigate to regulate airflow, if car play is taking up the screen how would you change say the rear airflow settings? (As an example)

I’m sure it’s easy, would like someone to explain though. I’m still considering a CarPlay install but live in Scotland so nowhere near the places mentioned.

Sorry for taking a while to dig this out Steve.
The company is.TTW. They took a couple of hours to do the work while I waited.
With Carplay you have the option to use the MB satnav, Google or Apple Maps of Waze according to your mood.

Thanks, found them on google and they get good reviews. I'll give them a call, intend to do it in the new year.

You use the “Back/Return” button to toggle between the Carplay and Mercedes screens and the scrolling knob to access the Carplay menus. You don’t any of rhe Mercedes functionality (for what its worth!)
IMO the MB touch screen and MBUX is a retrograde step. I was minded to upgrade until I realised how bad it was on my GLC 300d.

For those with the Nav Maps on the SD card, the best option is to buy a new SD card Map from Ebay. mine was about £30 for the 2023 and I will change it every 2 years. I'm not sure what year they went to Hard Disk.
