I would like to remove a shelf in the wardrobe to create hanging space. Is there a correct way to do this as it seems that any force is likely to break the plastic clip holding the shelf in place?

I removed the shelf as I decided to keep our bedding in the wardrobe.The plastic clips need to be carefully eased away from the wardrobe side with a small flat blade screwdriver.
