Sliding seat positions?

Hi there we are current T5 owners thinking of crossing to the 3 pointed star... It is clear from videos and photos that the MP rear seat slides forward as part of the folding-to-a-bed process, but my question is whether one can drive with the rear seat in its forward position (not folded down) to give more luggage space behind. Some T5 conversions offer this option, useful for carrying bikes inside the vehicle. Any answers?

I honestly don't see any reason why you can't do that, although I never tried it....

Hi, I have checked the user manual which talks about rear seating having an "optimal position" which is marked on the rails, however it then goes on to say load compartment may be increased by moving seat bench forward as required but for safety a minimum 5cm must remain between the knees of any rear seat passenger and the seat in front.
If you are planning to transport bikes etc inside I think you would need to remove the rear bed extension and frame also as it does not slide forward with the seats.

Well my life would be transformed if the airlines would follow that 5cm-between-knees-and-seat-in-front rule! Thanks Braysaway, I don't mind removing the bed extension as indoor bike transport and sleeping inside rarely coincide...

Hi, you can drive with the rear seats forward, in fact we normally do to carry a bike in rear compartment!
