Let’s talk toilets

I used to use a bucket wedged between the front seats, when I needed a dump in the night I just hung over and dropped from height.
This all stopped when I missed and it landed in the wife's handbag !

So, where do you all store your porta potti for travelling? In the boot area or leave it on the floor, if so how do you secure it.
Also if using the lower bed is there still room or do we need to get a toilet tent. Is it a better option to use the upper bed so one can go downstairs for the inevitable nocturnal visit.?
Sorry for such basic questions but this is all new to us.

We have a larger Porta Potti, as we are older than probably most of you. Securing it whilst driving, I pull the rear seats forward. Drop it behind in its carry case then push the seat back locking it in place.

We then have a throw up toilet tent which is really easy to set up. So the contents are outside the van. This is good for camping without facilities.
