The photos are very very helpful and it does look fairly straightforward. Where did you locate the controller? I’m reluctant to drill holes in anything but if it can be fixed with Velcro or similar that would be fine.
The controller is attached to the panel in the wardrobe which is accessible from the rear.
I was also not keen on drilling so used strong double sided adhesive tape which seems to work well
