Hello

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself. I’m Richard and I own a 2017 MP. I’ve had it a while now but am just starting to find the faults so no doubt will be posting more and more in the future for solutions and workarounds.
Thanks for having me here.

Hello and welcome!

The search function on this site is a great place to start if you do have faults, many of us have experienced them before and a few have taken the time to provide some excellent guidance.

Good luck!

Hi - It can seem a bit negative here sometimes as faults or issues are the main topic, but its still a great camper and a good every day vehicle.

Hi and thank you for your responses.
I actually love the MP but now just want to ‘tweak’ it and correct those things that have bugged me for years!
The (non exhaustive) list so far is:

1.Need to get a solar panel fitted as I live in fear of the leisure battery dying and I can’t/wont run the fridge off battery alone.
2. Need to fix the fridge as at the moment it is either on 5 (freezing) or 0.
3. My 2017 didn’t come with the central console with cup holder. Need to remedy this with something!!

More things to follow I’m sure!!

Re point 1 Depending upon what battery you have under the passenger seat I’d consider Lithium. Or at least AGM. Whilst expensive if you also add a modern Victorian type charger relay you have much more storage.

Re point 2. It’s a common failure the temperature sensor fails. Replacement is about £75 (Mercedes or Campervantastic) the fridge is an Dometic unit made for Westfalia. and DIY replacement is fiddly but OK if you follow YouTube link of a German guy. I’d just cut the sensor lead and join in an easier access area with small WAGO type connections.
