You can change brakes no problem. If you want to change the hand brake shoes you will need a way to release the electronic hand brake. One of the more advanced obdII devices will do that.If I change the brake pads & discs myself, will I get an error message? Do I need to "program" them in?
In other words, will I get an error message that my brakes aren't working properly?
Thanks Tony MCYou can change brakes no problem. If you want to change the hand brake shoes you will need a way to release the electronic hand brake. One of the more advanced obdII devices will do that.
Wow, too easy. Thanks so much.1. Turn ignition on (dont start!)
2. Press and hold the phone call button and the return button on the steering wheel simultaneously. (They are on opposite sides).
3.from the option select brake pad replacment position with OK.
You will hear the pads winding back.
4. message will come up saying the the pads are in the replacment position.
Turn off....
Do the do and when youve finished, follow the proceedure again and put the brakes back in to their operating position.
This is pretty much from memory but there are plenty vids on the web to show you......
