Control panel showing full waste tank but have emptied it

maybe take off the cap and look inside with a phone? D probably some kinda readout thingie mechanic which is dirty.

It happened to me once. The waste tank is under the sink and kitchen, behind the cupboards; you can easily remove the cupboards and then reach the top of the tank (not so easily). The level sensor is in the lid: open it (mine was very tight) and see if the sensor is corroded or too dirty.

Mine apparently felt threatened and started working immediately as I unscrewed it.

I had a similar situation but I’m cleaning the fresh water tank with denture cleaning tablets filling the sink and draining into the gray tank so it is completely filled. Allow it to fizzle inside of both tanks for 30mins or longer on a warm day keeping to top up the clean water tank and add extra tablets in the sink as it fills the gray tank.
After I’m done, I dump it ( It’s safe and biological friendly) on our driveway which quickly evaporates.
After repeating a refill rinse all indicators are good.
It’s important not to drain “contaminated water” like pasta water or whatever might cause the sensors to get slimy or sticky.
The tables are cheap (I buy them from a discount store called ACTION, here and they won’t damage anything including you if any small residue remains in the clean tank.
You can also smell when it’s depleted during the last rinse since it has a minty smell.
