Dashboard Warnings ⚠️ Advice Most Welcome ‼️

Hi All - I have a 2019 V300 MP and have for over 6 months been plagued with sporadic faults showing on the dash.

I have taken it to two main dealers and a Mercedes independent specialist, and none can find fault / replicate fault types with the vehicle.

It has now broken down two times (won’t start) and I attach a few pictures of the faults whilst vehicle is operating and some from when I have finished my journey.

Can anyone advise from similar experiences??

I don’t trust the vehicle and won’t travel long distances as I am never sure it will start and / or play up. It has full MB service and has around 26K miles. Thx in advance. Steve R

All apart from the 'restraint system'/power steering issue error are indicative of a fault in one of the wheel speed sensors. Essentially if they malfunction, and they do on V classes, often intermittently, the ABS, cruise control, parking brake assist are all automatically turned off. Sometimes, just stopping for a few minutes and restarting is enough to clear the issue temporarily. I have had 2 replaced on different wheels, and at least one wasn't initially showing fault codes (suspect they were cancelled) which my independent Mercedes couldn't pick up. You need the fault code to identify which of the wheel speed sensors is causing the problem. Their replacement is cheap, the part is about £70 plus minimal labour. However, I am guessing your dealers have already considered the wheel speed sensors and the restraint fault may be indicative of something else?

Thx PhilipHa for the timely and constructive response. I will follow up with the Independent re wheel speed sensors approach.

You maybe right that other issues may reside in addition - but getting the binging and bonging warning chimes sorted with the ESP/Brake Assist etc will be a big step forward as it was starting to impact the ownership enjoyment a lot!!

Out of courtesy - will keep you posted on the wheel speed sensor fix and the outcome. Appreciate your input - Best, Steve

I've had the parking brake warning, but it was a broken cable. There are threads on here taking about the speed sensors giving varied faults.

Thx and noted Steve B - will go and research more on this forum - just getting to grips with how the forum and club site is laid out / operates. Cheers

I've just had the same error problems shown and were rectified after the second attempt by my local MB Dealership in Nayland West Wales. It required a replacement front ABS sensor, handbrake pin and handbrake adjustment (approx total cost £475). It appears that when these errors occur the symptoms are ABS, handbrake and reduced power steering all in connection with the PreSafe mode. It also stopped my powered sliding door and tailgate operation. Both returned to full function once the repair was completed and PreSafe fault cancelled. Good luck with your repair.

Hi All - thx for all the responses and insight.

So, for awareness and to close the loop, my van is now working properly.

Credit to MB Tech in Warrington. My front wiring loom was pinched (near the front radar area) and over time had been compromised which caused it to contact with the front chassis panel and resulted in shorting and arcing, especially when moisture was present (e.g like driving in spray on the motorway).

New loom replaced and all is well. Thanks for all the input and shared opinions/ experiences.

Thanks, always good to find the cause and get a solution. Well documented, so another one for the 'search' to help members in the future.
