Does anyone have the part number of the cover that fits the bracket mounting hole when the awning is removed? Thanks.

Failing a part number does anyone have a cover they don't want?

Any idea what it looks like SBD? Simple grommet may temporarily cover it?

No, I read about it on this forum, apparently some found it in the glove box.

This is the fixing bolt when awning is removed, it can be slid out.

I didn't get the cover when I picked up my MP. I would have noted it for sure.
Nice temporary fix with the grommets - another idea is if you knew of anyone who has a 3D printer. I wouldn't have thought it was too difficult to knock out a design and print one

I collect the van tomorrow so can't take credit for the fix, that's down to Campersales who I'm buying from.

I wanted them to remove the awning as I thought it better than me struggling and the potential damage I might do.

Cover price is a staggering 25e. Good idea re 3D printing though.

Like so many things MP/Westfalia the awning rail cover remains elusive.

I was lead to believe that there was a cover in the glove box for use when the awning (bit of a misnomer as in reality it's a poor excuse for a sun shade) was removed:

This is from the previously mentioned thread that started my search for the cover:

When the car was delivered, there was a plastic cover in the glove compartment. It fits when the awning is removed.

So I got the proper cover ordered from Westfalia:

Looks like it's a cover for use when the awning is fitted, I had the awning removed before I collected the MP so never seen a fitted awning.

The grommet fix was ok but I thought in absence of the cover I'd make a more permanent job.
The bracket is Sikaflexed in place so I considered 'cheese wiring' it off but decided against that when I remembered I had a pack of Sugru.

If a future owner wants to fit an awning it wouldn't be to much of a job to remove the Sugru.

I think it's an acceptable fix and doesn't look to out of place..

Thought this might interest @Epigram

Ha Ha.... probably one of the few that exists that no one knows what they're for or why they have them.

I'm happy with my work around but do wish I could get a wiring diagram or at least some info about the electrics.:(
