Was having an issue with the tailgate 'bouncing' up again when very nearly closed, meaning I needed to stop it opening and then close it manually (someone else mentioned the same issue on another thread).
Managed to fix it with a 'manual reset' by following the below steps (as advised by a Mercedes mechanic):
1) Key in ignition and turn to the position before engine starts.
2) Disconnect negative terminal of battery (pull off side of box under driver's seat, then need 10mm socket to disconnect terminal)
3) Wait around 5 minutes to let all modules delete data
4) Turn off and remove key
5) Reconnect negative terminal
6) Turn key to position before engine starts and wait around 30 seconds to let modules restart
7) Start engine
After this (the car equivalent of 'turn it off and then on again') the tailgate shuts perfectly! Hope this might save a trip to the dealer if anyone else has same issue.
