Removing 3 seater bench in Marco Polo horizon

It takes at least two- instructions are in the manual - sorry I can’t remember and like you I can’t be bothered to look if you don’t have a manual you can download it from your favorite App Store…

Thanks for the reply. I hadn’t realised at the time of posting that this info was in the manual so had been cluelessly searching the net instead. Now located the manual and removed the seats.

^^^ was it a two man job? I’m interested because if I buy a Horizon or full fat MP I may elect to remove the rear bench for daily use to get my dogs in.

(appreciate that the full fat camper is different)

I definitely couldn’t have done it alone, nor could my husband. I had a look at some of the vclass videos on you tube and they were ok as the 3 seater bench folds in to a two seater and one seater. The horizon is a 3 seater with no gaps, so it has to go in and out as a three. Aside from weight (manual said 75kg), it’s an awkward shape to get in and out through the doors and helps to have an extra pair of hand when fixing back in so that one can hold the bench and the other check the fixings are the right place. How many seats do you need. You could potentially sell your seats and swap for the v class bench if that’s an option. The reason I wanted to take my seats out was because we needed to lift the rails and add inserts so that we could take 2 extra captain seats to use as a 7 seater occasionally. It’s easy enough to take the single seats in and out alone. They’re still a bit weighty but no too bad.

how many dogs do you have? If you push the bench as far forward as it goes the boot in the horizon is enormous.

Thanks for your response. I’ve got two medium sized dogs. I think whatever model I go for they’ll be in the section behind the drivers seat. I’ll figure something out when I’ve got one. The space is plentiful with either and realistically there for the most part only ever two of us on overnights and maybe four on day trips.

The seats are insanely heavy and cumbersome, they can be removed but as I and several have said before it’s a two man job. The bed extender is less arduous but still takes care to shuffle in/out without causing damage (HORIZON) probably a little lighter in the Full fat version. @StrawberryBee I would love to see some photos of your 7 seat conversion. And how you managed to fit the runners for them, our 2018 horizon has the fixings which I want to remove to allow the one seat full range on the runners.
