Sooo this will hopefully give you a wry smile or at least make me look stupid and give you a laugh.
recently I started getting front sensor warnings as if there was an obstruction at the front left of the car. Was driving me nuts. Of course I cleaned and made sure the area was clear but to no avail.
My plan was to get her at least to a local Mercedes independent as I’m now out of warranty. Lived with it for about a week before I thought maybe I can get in behind the bumper and check for a loose or dirty contact.
I thought about that for a few days and then one day when walking around the front of the car I noticed that the number plate had actually popped out of the holder by about 5mm!!!
So, yep that’s all it took, popped it back in, secured it and the phantom alerts are no more.
I just thought I’d share as it was so ridiculously obvious yet if you looked at the number plate you’d never have thought such fine margins would have caused the issue.
every days a school day. Hope this helps someone or at least gives you a smile.
