MB Software Updates

I've had a recall request from MB associated with the engine cooling system which was completed Monday this week, but I was also informed that there was a power train software update also performed. After collection it was apparent that the engine had noticeably less power. Having no information/notification sent for this update I'm not sure what it was for. Does anyone else know of having the same issue and maybe understand why it was needed please? My MP is a '69' plate 220d. My cynical thought processes say it's to do with emissions and surreptitiously derating the engine reduces the noxious output!!

My 2019 is 6 months out of MB warranty. Should I expect to be contacted about this “update”? That said it’s a v250 not v220.
Before I purchased the car I did a car vertical check it did say no recalls outstanding for this vehicle. Not that this says much as I’m not too sure of the thoroughness of these searches/ reports really.
