Well Hello there!

Picked mine up some two weeks ago from Sandown Dorchester, a 250 sport, after owning a Vito dualiner for some 12 years, pretty much a home made Marco Polo with a definitely much better stereo then the brand new one. Sad to see the old one go but ULEZ and all that, plus the kids wanted a kitchen for those festivals etc.
Been a camper van fan from the States, Canada and NZ. This is definitely the best glamour camper that is also my MPV.
Spent quite a bit of time researching what type, what extras and chose black with two tone interior, aux heater, 360 camera and command online. The last option was sold to me by the dealer wrongly as I was told this would give me android auto and DAB.It doesn't even on a new vehicle with only 2200 miles registered Sept 18.
Sandown where OK as they threw in the bike rack and I did get a reasonable deal on this demonstrator. Saving over 10%.
I have opted to fit the Dension usb Dab+U , but no Android Auto just Mercedes Internet. This is ok if you like Compuserve or are in China (basic rubbish). The Mercedes office app is a waste of time for me too. No Spotify unless you play as a media device. I have looked at odb2 dongle upgrades etc but unsure..
Also the Spare tyre was missing, but the dealer has told me they have one for me.
I know from previous experience that most dealers especially Mercedes talk rubbish, but this forum, you tube and google gave me a good insight. Mercedes dealers really do need some better understanding as they all say what a specialised vehicle this is, with no real knowledge. I do think the commercial sales arm that VW use is a better model.
I now have the summer season of Sportives and festivals to look forward to and using the van currently as a site office for the building projects I am involved in. More comfortable then a portacabin.
The Marco Polo is brilliant apart from a few annoying factors. The sliding door is on the wrong side for the UK, it likes Adblue (this forum is so right having owned an MGB for 17 years, its like adding oil) cheap on Amazon. I manage to get 5 miles from the dealership before the warning light came on, The 360 camera is not that clever with the Mercedes bike rack, better to look out, definitely do not use auto park.
So if you see me in London, The South West or Scotland I thank you for all the information you have on this informative forum as no doubt Mercedes Tech and sales will just sprout their usual proverbial ....

Welcome; the lack of DAB is a frustration on a high cost vehicle and plenty of comments on here about it. I understand the aerial is the issue due to the roof, but it could have gone in the rear spoiler (if they made it standard on all MP's), didn't really try by the looks of things. Anyway, where did you put your aerial for the Dension? would be interested in any photos of the installation. I currently use my iphone app which is OK, would prefer DAB to be part of the fittings though

How is the reception with a windscreen aerial? The only thing missing is DAB radio and maybe you have discovered the solution, do you recommend?
Thanks, Paul.

I initially found the absence of DAB annoying but with DAB of no use on the continent have found BT streaming of digital radio stations and Spotify to be my preferred choice for listening. Driving through France and listening to F1 on R5live was brilliant!

Its R4extra, virgin and absolute that I listen to in my other car, so DAB would have been useful! Still, it wasn't a deal breaker
