How to fill water tank

Hi there ! Nice to meet you all We bought a beautiful 2011 Viano and we are loving it but there’s a thing we don’t understand about the water thank .. whenever we try to fill it from the outside with the hose it spills all over .. the only solution we found was to open the water tank cover from the inside and then the water comes in. Is this normal ? We don’t see any info about this on the instructions manual.

Hello & Welcome - Its a different model MP to mine, but the water is a bit fiddly to fill, just the fact it is a vertically mounted opening. I use a funnel and just take my time. Hope you are enjoying your new Viano.
