Electric Roof Catching on Awnining?

Hi,
on first part of opening the roof there is a loud cluncking noise as the root passes the metal awning attachment. Is this normal or has something been installed wrong? Obviously worried long term damage.

Worth a look at the rubber seal that goes around the rim of the roof - it can get a bit close to the awning (from my experience of 2 MP, the after-market one was v close!)
