DVLA - MPV or motor home?

Hi folks, my MP is registered as an MPV but my insurers (Comfort) require it to be re-registered as a motor home which I've tried to do with a supporting letter from the dealer. However they want a letter from the manufacturer which the dealer is trying to arrange but has also said that DVLA only register MPs as MPVs. Anyone else had this problem and if so how have you resolved it - either with DVLA or the insurer? Thanks,

There is quite a lot of info on this from others, but I went with a specialist broker who insures my defender and made sure it was clear in the details exactly what was insured. That is all the kit that makes it a camper and not a just MPV. The link is below (hope it works!)

I got my MP added to my Aviva car insurance policy to make it a multi vehicle policy.
They were great to deal with and said they don’t cover motorhome’s but do the MP.
Personally I wouldn’t try and re-register or re-classify your vehicle but would use a co that can insure it for what it is.

Thanks. Do you think the right classification is as an MPV?

Being my first camper van I just don’t know!

I wonder what the VWs get registered as.
