Servicing maintenance

Hi ,
I did not purchase the service contract as it seemed very expensive for a vehicle with 2 yearly service intervals,
I was wondering if anyone has had a service yet and what l should expect to pay.
Also has anyone had the software upgrade as on the recall letter

We have just had ours serviced by Mercedes Benz Bristol. The standard 'Service A' cost was £393. Pricey for a oil change and new filter!

The service plan does not make any sense-at £40 per month you’d have paid nearly £1000 by the time the first service is due, assuming low-average mileage.

I can only assume that it’s a way for MBUK to get the vehicle into a dealer every year for service even though the van can go 2 years in between.

Yes i would imagine it’s a product they try to sell with all vehicles, probably a good purchase if you ran a executive taxi firm or racked up 10s of thousands of miles a year.. the thing that MB staff don’t consider is that by trying to push this stuff with the MP is reflecting badly, I just switched off when they went on the upsell with me trying to get me to buy paint and wheel and tyre and a load of other extra insurance.

MB: “You want to keep it looking nice don’t you?”
Me: Yes but it won’t cost me over £1000 a year will it.

I’m re-considering the wheel and tyre choice since we had a double blowout on a Scottish pot hole and Bear Scotland are just not responding.. that’s the tyre budget blown Lol.

The blow outs were bad luck,
My son inlaw had apothole blowout causing damage to an alloy on his BMW soft top. He managed to get some compensation from the borough council highways dept,

That's not bad actually for a 2-year service, I was only paying around 90 GBP less for the annual on my Volvo and Audi. What was covered? Could you post a photo of the service document?

My local MB dealer advised their labour costs are £178ph plus vat.

Be interesting to see what other authorised dealers are charging.

Also, worth considering shopping around for the oil and filter and taking them along to the service. As long as it’s the same standard thinking they should have to use them. Have done this previously on a Range Rover.

Failing that, anyone fancy joining me in opening up a dealership?

I used to budget £1500 for my old V280 - two year service... I really cannot see the issue here. 25000 miles for £400 and the car comes back clean and hoovered, FFS a valet will cost you £60...
