As an excited new owner of 250 Sport last Wednesday (24/04/19) we went to show family and friends our MP however when going to put roof down nothing but warning alarms? After several attempts at the correct sequence and then ignition on/off to maybe reset the roof came down and we said to ourselves must be us getting it wrong ( sure we followed procedure ). Thursday (take the 2 days off work) we go off on our first outing to the coast, we set up but then roof will not go up??? Have to sleep on bottom bunk!!! I decide to leave family to go and get it checked by Mercedes (1 1/2hr drive) on Friday. Sadly our MP is still sat there. We were told it would be looked at and hopefully sorted on Monday maybe get backed to the booked site but not even looked at I find after calling around because of no update fromMercedes, sadly Tuesday evening and again no update.Staff apologize a lot but still no action!

What a frustrating experience for you.
Let’s hope it gets fixed soon and the dealer gives you a good explanation of what went wrong .
We collected ours a day later than you (25/4/19) I shall now check the manual on how to raise (?) lower the roof manually as insurance.
Good luck keep us posted

Hi, Had a similar problem when lowering the roof weekend just gone. It just wouldn't lock and alarm going off under cooker unit. Eventually found the metal strip on top of the Micro Switch on the drivers side, where the bar locks into place had come off so contact couldn't`t be made. I managed to reinsert the strip and now it locks but the alarm still goes off and it doesn't`t stop on closing as it should to check the sides are getting tangled so I have reported to Mercedes Cambridge but haven`t heard anything to date. Not getting that warm feeling I`m afraid.

With this and the blisters in the roofs it makes you worry about the quality control in Mercedes sub contractor, Westfalia.

That is awful. Picking up a new camper is a brilliant time, it's not just a vehicle, it's lifestyle, an opening to a whole way of life limitless in its possibilities and to have it tarnished is a horrible experience. I feel for you.

Most times these things are easy fixes but that doesn't help when the joy has turned to frustration and the vehicle is now parked up on someone else drive. I hope you get it back soon, all polished and smiling at you and working as it should.

We had exactly the same problem, the first time we used ours and it took two weeks in the dealership. All seems to be sorted now.
